Rules for abstract Submission
1.
All abstracts must be submitted online using the Registration Center.
Submission deadline is Midnight July 1st, 2010 (Brasilia,
Brazil time).
2. An official email will be sent to the corresponding author in order
to confirm that the abstract has been correctly received. If this email
is not received within 7 days after submission, correspondent author
should contact Secretariat by email (epididymis5@eventus.com.br).
3. An individual may be first author on one and only one abstract and
make only one presentation at the meeting. However, an author’s
name may appear on more than one abstract.
4. The first author must present the abstract. Any exception must be
approved by the Scientific Committee.
5. The Scientific Committee will review each abstract for scientific
merit. Submission of an abstract does not ensure its acceptance for
presentation. The first author will be notified by an official email
of Scientific Committee’s decision regarding acceptance of abstract
and program assignment by August 18th, 2010.
6. Abstracts must be original material and results should not be published
at the moment of the abstract submission. Data and conclusions presented
at the meeting must be based on the same research as the abstract.
Important Information
1.
Submission of an abstract constitutes an agreement that the presenting
author will attend the meeting to present the abstract, if the abstract
is accepted.
2. The presenting author must certify that the conditions for submission
have been satisfied and that all ethical and animal and human welfare
considerations have been met.
3. All accepted abstracts will be published in a meeting supplement
volume in Annual Review in Biomedical Sciences (ARBS; http://arbs.biblioteca.unesp.br/index.php/arbs/index),
an open access journal. For this reason, authors should carefully follow
the rules for abstract format listed below.
4. The Proceedings of the Fifth International Conference on the Epididymis
V, containing contributions from the invited speakers, will be published
in a special issue of the Journal of Andrology sponsored by the American
Society of Andrology (USA).
Format

1.
Abstracts must be written in English.
2. The abstract - including title, authors, and affiliations - may not
exceed one printed page with the following format: Times New Roman font
12, single space, letter page (8.5 x 11 inches; 21.6 x 27.9 cm), 0.8
inches (2 cm) in each margin.
3. The title should not exceed 150 characters (including spaces).
4. Authors should be listed in order, with first, middle initials and
last name (ex. Camilla M Ribeiro). All affiliations should be informed
by numbers (Department, Institution, City, State and Country).
5. Correspondent
author will be the first author and should be indicated by an asterisk.
6. Abstracts must contain the following itens: Introduction, Aims, Methods,
Results and Discussion, Conclusions, Financial Support, Keywords (up
to five) and Correspondent Author information (name, mailing address
and email).
7. Do not include tables, figures, or references. Abstracts may not
contain any type of advertising or logos. Abbreviations and acronyms
should be avoided.
8. Do not use phrases such as “will be discussed” or “will
be presented.”
9. It is strongly recommended the proper use of gene and protein nomenclature
as recommended by the bioinformatics databases.
10. Each author must disclose any financial, personal, or professional
relationships with other people or organizations that could reasonably
be perceived as conflicts of interest or as potentially influencing
or biasing their work. Authors’ disclosures should also appear
on the oral abstract presentation slides or poster presentation board.
11. If an abstract must be withdrawn, written notice of withdrawal signed
by the presenting author must be submitted (by fax or email) to the
Organizing Committee (epididymis5@gmail.com;
Fax: 55-11-5576-4448). This notice must state the reason(s) for withdrawal
